Tips for specification of an optimum power source when using microDRIVE LPi units.
Power Supply
The microDRIVE units can receive power from a wide type of power sources. Commonly used are:
- Batteries (Li-Ion, Li-Po, etc).
- Uni-directional Power Supplies (standard bench power supplies, tethers, etc).
- Bi-directional Power Supplies.
When using uni-directional power supplies, AFW must be disabled to prevent damage to the power source or ESC from regenerative power.
If the device detects it is being powered over USB only drive will be locked out. This may be falsely triggered on systems with precharge circuitry, this behavior can be disabled by setting the 'USB Power Lockout' setting to false.
