 firmware has a watchdog timer to help the device recover from a software crash or unrecoverable error condition. If the firmware becomes unresponsive the device will forcibly restart to recover from the error condition.

A watchdog reset will set an error that is viewable in the configuration tool.

A watchdog reset indicates either a software or hardware fault. Support should be contacted if a watchdog reset has occurred.

A watchdog reset will be detected as a warm reboot and output status will be retained. See the warm boot detection page for more information:
