Getting Started
this guide provides information on how to successfully integrate the micro flux 4lpi power supply into your system and how to take advantage of its features and flexibility it is strongly recommended to familiarize yourself with this guide before connecting or powering on your unit 1\ wiring below are the manufacturer part numbers for mating connectors and pre terminated wires needed to connect to the input and outputs of the micro flux 4lpi weight can be minimized by fine tuning the wire size based on system current draw bus input mating connector housing molex 2064610400 bus input 16 awg pre terminated wire molex 0367693064 (x4) output channel mating connector housing molex 5031490800 output channel 24 awg pre terminated wire molex 2157111124 (x4 black) and molex 2157112124 (x4 red) 2\ communications the following communication checks should be performed on a new system before use, configure the output voltage and power on behavior of each output channel using the quick start guide within the hargrave configurator tool enable the can terminator on the unit furthest away from flight controller if no other can devices are terminating the bus 3\ mounting the following mounting checks should be performed on a new system ensure the power supply is mounted securely to the vehicle ensure all connected cables are externally strain relieved for long term reliability ensure the power supply is mounted in a location with appropriate environmental protection \ensure the exposed copper surface is covered with an electrically non conductive material to prevent short circuits as well as accidental\ \ contact \ \ensure there is an air gap of at least 1mm \[0 04in] between the unit and any conductive materials \ 4\ protection systems activation of protection mechanisms may cause unexpected system responses, including outputs disabling it is important to understand these behaviours and configure them based on your application in particular, if micro flux channels are used for flight critical power rails ensure there are no protections enabled and set to levels that may disable the channel more information is available in the protection systems section 5 initial configuration the default configuration for micro flux is to have all output channels switched off on power up in order to use the device, at a minimum the desired channel voltages must be configured, and the “power on at startup” flags must be set for the desired channels or the channels must be enabled during operation via can refer to the wiring diagram for identifying channel output and wiring polarity during initial integration it is recommended to confirm correct voltage setting with a multimeter before connecting to your system as incorrect settings can damage downstream devices to configure the unit, power must be provided on the input connector and a can adaptor connected to the can connector further details are provided in the settings section voltage selection variant c of the micro flux 4lpi h as channels 1 and 2 as high voltage, and channels 3 and 4 as low voltage low voltage channels can be software configured to output at one of eight discrete voltages between 3 3 to 12v similarly, high voltage channels can be configured between 12 to 28v the output voltage of each channel can be configured via the can interface the selectable voltage options are lv channels hv channels 3 3 v 12 v 5 0 v 15 v 5 4 v 16 v 7 2 v 19 v 8 2 v 21 3 v 10 v 24 v 10 3 v 25 2 v 12 v 28 v
