is guide covers the basic steps to configure your Hargrave Technologies Device using the Configurator tool

Start by connecting your device to your computer. This can be done through connecting a USB directly to your device or through DroneCAN or ARINC 825 by connecting a CAN adapter or Flight Computer.

Connect your compatible Hargrave device to your computer with a type C USB cable

Connections to Hargrave devices and third party adapters/flight computers can be managed in the connection manager. The connection manager can be opened with the 'Connections' button in the top right (button 3 in the below diagram) or the 'Other' button (button 2 in the below diagram). Button 1, labeled 'USB', will directly open the COM port selector to quickly connect to a Hargrave device over USB.

The below image shows the connection manager interface. Previously connected USB devices that are currently connected to your computer will be shown in the available USB ports section. New USB devices can be connected with the USB button in the top right.

Select the correct COM port. The COM port selection dialog will look different depending on whether you are using the downloaded (left) or the online (right) version of the configurator.

After connection you will be directed to the ESC page to configure settings. From this page you can change settings, create and load settings presets and flash firmware.

When the 'Auto Reconnect' toggle is active, ESC reconnection over USB and DroneCAN is detected and the ESC is loaded into the configurator. From configurator version 1.5.0 this is enabled by default.

The configurator tour, accessible from the welcome screen, will take you through the various features of the configurator as a guided walkthrough with a simulated ESC.
